Taking one of these for HBP once a day… Got off them in 2010 successfully and then failed in 2011 by having to go back on them… Going to successfully punt this nonsense once & for all in 2012…

Good luck, Patrick. Wish I could get rid of my meds but I need them to stay out of the psych ward. 🙂

  2. Let’s face it…much of the pharmaceutical industry and the overall medical industry sucks in the way they approach health and wellness. It needs an overhaul.

    I’m rooting for you!

I am also back on my asthma medication. I am so fed up of it. I am hoping that as my diet and exercise improve, so will my asthma! 🙂

  6. That’s great motivation for all of us, Patrick. Let us know when you have succeeded!

  7. Staying out of the psych ward, thats a great resolution

  8. I know I can get off these, the med industry gets too much of my cash, enough is enough

  9. Well at least you know what you gotta do

  10. I bet you will see relief as your health improves, seems being healthy improves most aspects of illness at least a little

  11. Hey Patrick! What are your symptoms when it’s time to get off the HBP meds? I’d like to know for when it’s time for me to stop taking them.

    Get ‘er done.

  12. Stephen,
Interesting question as I had a learning experience when I was able to get off them in 2010. That summer I went to my Dr. for an annual check up where I told him that when I would exercise, especially weight training, I found I was getting light headed. He had already checked my BP and said it was great 122 / 79 at the time. He said lets take you off the HBP pills for a week, do my work outs that week, and come back for a follow up. I said sure, half believing he just suckered me into another office visit fee, but I trust him and did just that.

When I went back I was able to report that the light headedness was gone, and he said my BP was still great 121 / 81 that day (I keep these numbers written down, I’m odd like that, had to look at them to reply here)… so he said the HBP pills were no longer helping keep my BP normal, my improved fitness was doing that on its own, and that at times during the day the meds were lowering my BP a bit too much. So I let out a cheer and ditched the pills. Look forward to ditching them again.

Thanks for stopping by, indeed Get ‘er done!

  13. That should be incentive to get this under comtrol… you could end up on more – NOT! I am with you Patrick!
