Tuesday What Was That?

Posted: January 31, 2012 in Mission

Yesterday I was asked what’s the food I dislike the most? Brussel Sprouts, I never grew up to like them.

This past weekend I overhead one treadmill rider ask another what they looked forward to most about exercising? As if written in a comedy skit the answer rider put on her headphones and said “blocking out others while I run”. I almost fell off my treadmill.

Last week I asked someone why they eat low carb in the winter and don’t eat on a plan in summer? His reply was odd and wordy, the essence was he never exercises so cycling on and off dieting help him maintain his weight (he is at least 50# over ideal).

Today I’ll ask you this, do you find the thoughts (answers to questions) from others seeking to get fit as odd or funny as I do at times?

Seriously us seekers of health do ask allot of questions, and we answer more than we ask. Losing weight is serious work but from the observers seats it must look comedic at times if not often.

Breakfast On The Go

These are in our office convenience store, so never can I come up with a worthy excuse to choose the frosted cinnamon roll!

How many hard boiled eggs are you eating today?

UhHuh TV Sux

Right now this (above) is what is on tv here, a reality show about mob wives.

Wait no, that was so 27 seconds ago, this is what’s on now (below)…

A show about housewives in Atlanta.

Then there is the show about people auctioning storage junk, and another about the family with 19, or is it 20 kids? And at least a half dozen others so-called reality shows.

This crap is constantly on our television. CONSTANTLY!

It is mind numbing and quite sad. Yet it entertains millions! What the attraction is I have no idea, NONE!

Guess I’ll go back to my book; Why We Get Fat, by Gary Taubes.

What are you watching, or, reading?

Good morning. I am starting my day at the YMCA.

How are you starting your day?

Yes, it is snowing as I go to the YMCA. Just a nuisance snowfall to start the day, it happens. We can’t let a little snow prevent us from accomplishing our wildest dreams can’t we?

Wrestle Away Pounds

Posted: January 28, 2012 in Miscellaneous

Oh to be young again…

At sons conference wrestling extravaganza. Ryan won this consolation semi-final and goes on to 3d place match next, so he now ranks as an all conference wrestler. The funniest part, he hates the sport, he just does this to stay in shape for soccer.

Overkill Is Underrated

Is adhering to a strict diet to ensure progress overkill? If it is, then some cheating here and there should be acceptable; no?

Is scheduling exercise and not missing a session to ensure progress overkill? If it is, then skipping a session here and there should be acceptable; no?

Is insisting on executing both a strict diet and scheduled exercise to ensure progress overkill? If it is, then doing one and not both should be acceptable; no?

Why so many questions? Because these are the questions that go through my head at times, especially during times of slow progress.

And this is what I will ponder this day as I review my own plan.
