My brother in law is in a stand in those trees with the wind to his back. Me, I have the 25F breeze gently lashing at my face.

Its all good, great way to spend a morning. We’ll be home in time for the Super Bowl: Go Giants!

Saw plenty if deer yesterday evening…

But none worthy of harvesting.

Back at it this morning, a crisp 30F a.m. with a high of 39F w/ partly sunny skies expected; very near perfect day for hunting.

Headed North

No, my scale is not headed north.

I am, up to our hunting property for a weekend of deer hunting.

That shot their was from our hunt last November. Oddly, we don’t expect the property to look much different due to the unseasonably warm winter. Actually a blanket of snow would help us, but so long as its not frigid I am all smiles.

I always get in a good workout on our hunts as our lands are quite hilly and wide.

Sorry for my lack of attention this week, been in training and not as connected as usual.

Yesterday I got a call which resulted in me leaving work early to tend to my oldest son, more specifically his ankle…

Backyard football on a muddy lawn is a great place for fun. Also a great place for injury. Sometimes whatever stick in mud, like a foot, doesn’t then move as easily out of the mud a moment later.

The result…

Broken ankle!

Monday he will see our Orthopedic, I say ‘our’ as not a year goes by one of us is not under their care. Then he will find out how bad and how long before he can play in the mud again.

Tuesday What Was That?

Yesterday I was asked what’s the food I dislike the most? Brussel Sprouts, I never grew up to like them.

This past weekend I overhead one treadmill rider ask another what they looked forward to most about exercising? As if written in a comedy skit the answer rider put on her headphones and said “blocking out others while I run”. I almost fell off my treadmill.

Last week I asked someone why they eat low carb in the winter and don’t eat on a plan in summer? His reply was odd and wordy, the essence was he never exercises so cycling on and off dieting help him maintain his weight (he is at least 50# over ideal).

Today I’ll ask you this, do you find the thoughts (answers to questions) from others seeking to get fit as odd or funny as I do at times?

Seriously us seekers of health do ask allot of questions, and we answer more than we ask. Losing weight is serious work but from the observers seats it must look comedic at times if not often.

Right now this (above) is what is on tv here, a reality show about mob wives.

Wait no, that was so 27 seconds ago, this is what’s on now (below)…

A show about housewives in Atlanta.

Then there is the show about people auctioning storage junk, and another about the family with 19, or is it 20 kids? And at least a half dozen others so-called reality shows.

This crap is constantly on our television. CONSTANTLY!

It is mind numbing and quite sad. Yet it entertains millions! What the attraction is I have no idea, NONE!

Guess I’ll go back to my book; Why We Get Fat, by Gary Taubes.

Good morning. I am starting my day at the YMCA.

How are you starting your day?

Yes, it is snowing as I go to the YMCA. Just a nuisance snowfall to start the day, it happens. We can’t let a little snow prevent us from accomplishing our wildest dreams can’t we?
